How to Mark Your Outlook 2003 Email as Unread

Many computer users find themselves overwhelmed by the sheer volume of email they receive on a daily basis. Whether at work or at home, many of us must sort through literally dozens of email messages a day. Determining which of these messages truly deserve our attention can be quite a task, and it is all too easy for those important emails to get lost in the shuffle.

Fortunately Microsoft Outlook 2003 provides an easy way to make those important emails stand out even after they have been previewed or read. Once an email has been read Outlook automatically marks it as such, removing the bold formatting that makes it stand out. This can result in emails that require a follow up or response becoming lost, and cause big problems both at work and at home.

Microsoft foresaw that problem and provided a way to again make those emails stand out. It is easy to mark any previously read email as unread simply by right clicking on it and choosing "Mark as Unread" from the drop-down menu. Once you have chosen this option the email again appears in bold, making it easy to find and follow up on those important messages.
Click on the "Tools" menu and choose "Options" from the list. Click the "Calendar Options" button and check the boxes indicating the days you want to display. Click the "Time Zone" button if you need to change to a different time zone.
