How to Set Up Multiple Calendars

By default Microsoft Outlook gives you a single calendar to keep track of your deadlines and appointments, but sometimes that one calendar is not enough. For instance, if you use Microsoft Outlook for both business and home use, it would be useful to have a separate calendar for work and personal appointments.

You can set up a second, or even a third, calendar if you wish. Setting up multiple calendars is a great way to keep yourself organized, especially if you need to juggle many different projects and keep track of a number of appointments at once.

To Create a New Calendar in Microsoft Outlook 2003 and 2007 1. Highlight Calendar in the navigation pane
2. Click on New and then Folder
3. Type a name for your new calendar
4. Go to the Folder Contains section and choose Calendar Items from the menu
5. Go to the Select Where to Place the Folder section and choose Calendar

To Create a New Calendar in Microsoft Outlook 2010
1. Click on Calendar in the navigation pane
2. Click the Folder tab, then the New group and choose New Calendar
3. Type a name for the calendar when the Create New Folder dialog box comes up
4. Choose Calendar Items from the drop-down box
5. Choose Calendar when prompted for a place to put the folder
After the new calendars have been created, you will see both the new and old calendars when you click My Calendars. You will also see options to arrange your calendars side by side, making it easier to keep track of both your personal and business appointments.
