If the Internet searches you do are of a highly sensitive or confidential nature, it is important to protect those searches from prying eyes. Fortunately, the Windows 7 operating system provides a fast and easy way to preserve your privacy when you go online.

To protect the privacy of your web searches, just follow these instructions.
1. Click the Start button and type GPEDIT.MSC in the Search box
2. Wait for the Group Policy Editor window to appear
3. Go to the User Configuration section and choose Administrative Templates
4. Choose Windows Components and then Windows Explorer
5. Double-click the Turn Off Display of Recent Search Entries in the Windows Explorer Search Box option
6. Select Enabled at the next screen
7. Click OK to accept your choice
