Windows 7 Tips and Tricks - How to Set the Auto-Play Options


The auto play option can be very useful, especially if you install a lot of software or play a lot of CDs and DVDs With the auto play option on, the computer automatically begins to play a CD or DVD, or run the install program when you insert a software CD.

The auto play option is on by default in Windows 7, but you have control over whether or not it stays on. In some cases you may not want CDs and DVDs to start automatically when you insert them, and you may want to disable auto play for other reasons as well.

If you want to disable the auto play options on your Windows 7 laptop or desktop, just follow these simple steps.
1. Click the Start button
2. Choose Control Panel
3. Click the All Control Panel Items option
4. Double-click the AutoPlay option
5. Clear the check box or AutoPlay for All Media to disable the auto play option
